1. Information I Collect

I only collect personal information that you choose to provide directly, such as when you contact me by email or through a form.

I do not automatically collect personal data such as your name, email address, or any information that identifies you personally.

However, I may automatically collect technical information when you use the site. This may include:

  • IP address (anonymised where possible)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited, time spent, and general usage patterns
  • Device type
  • Approximate geographic location (city-level only)

This information is used in an aggregated and anonymised way to understand how visitors use the website and improve performance. How much is collected depends on your cookie choice (see below).

2. Cookies and Visit Counting

Anonymous Visit Counting (No Cookies)

Unless you choose “Don't count my visits”, I count visits anonymously using PostHog, without cookies. The only thing kept in your browser is a note that cookies haven't been accepted. PostHog turns your IP address and browser details into a code that changes every day and cannot be turned back. The IP address itself is not kept, and no location is recorded.

This tells me how many people visit and which pages and features are used, so I can improve the site. It cannot tell me who you are, and it cannot link your visits on different days. Session recordings and heatmaps are never used for these visits.

UK law allows this kind of counting for statistics without asking first, as long as you can opt out. You can opt out at any time with “Don't count my visits” in Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page.

Cookies are small data files placed on your device. They help the website function properly and, if you accept them, allow me to understand in more detail how visitors use the site.

I use the following types of cookies:

Essential Cookies

Required for the website to function (e.g., security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choice). These cannot be disabled.

Functional Cookies

Used to remember your preferences and improve your experience.

Analytics Cookies (PostHog)

Used to understand in more detail how visitors use the website. These cookies are only set after you click “Accept cookies” on the cookie banner.

With cookies, analytics may include:

  • Page views, navigation paths, clicks, and interactions
  • Device/browser information
  • Approximate location (city-level only)
  • Performance metrics
  • Session recordings and heatmaps of how visitors interact with the site

No sensitive information — such as passwords, payment details, or anything typed into forms — is captured.

Managing Your Choice

You can accept or reject cookies, or stop anonymous visit counting altogether, at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

3. Third-Party Services

PostHog Analytics

I use PostHog to analyse how visitors use the site, on servers in the EU. Without cookies, PostHog only counts visits anonymously, as described above. With cookies, PostHog may also process technical data such as clicks, navigation, and browser information, and may record how you interact with pages to help diagnose usability issues. Some recordings may be analysed by PostHog's AI tools, which use an outside AI provider, to find where pages are hard to use. This looks at the site, not at you. PostHog does not capture what you type or other sensitive information.

Cloudflare

The website is delivered by Cloudflare, which also counts visits and measures page speed without cookies. Cloudflare does not use this to identify you.
